The Chatham Record‘s nineteenth-century anti-pie bias.
“The Blackberry Pie” appears on the May 24, 1888 edition of the Record‘s front page. Years later the story was published verbatim in the Australian paper Signs of the Times, under the pie-neutral title “His Own Way, and Enough of It.”
