Chatham Community Library is a dual-use public and community college library in Pittsboro, North Carolina, serving residents and students from Chatham County and surrounding areas. This blog serves to further our mission of providing broad access to information and resources to our large and diverse community of library members.
Our featured and frequently updated collections are:
Kids & Teens – lots of resources just for our young members – book reviews, recommendations, and more.
Local History – a weekly article from the library’s collection of historical newspapers on microfilm. If you find these excerpts interesting, we invite you to come and look at the collection, currently housed in the library’s Local History & Genealogy section. Our holdings include microfilmed versions of The Chatham Record dating from 1879, as well as a few other local historical newspapers.
Monthly Top 10 Lists of the most popular books and DVDs at the library.
This blog is intended to be a dialogue with our readers. We want to draw on community knowledge of local history, great books to read, and more! We would love to hear from you if you enjoy one of our posts, or if a name or event mentioned in a local history post stirs a memory or association for you. Please note that, because this is a public forum, all comments will be archived as part of the public record.
