Introducing Pronunciator!
Pronunciator is a new language-learning resource offered by NC LIVE. It offers instruction for 80 languages, and it offers that instruction in 50 different languages.
NC LIVE describes Pronunciator this way:
Pronunciator provides interactive, self-paced language learning for 80 languages and ESL for 50 non-English languages. This resource includes audio lessons, interactive textbooks, quizzes, intelligent flashcards, phrasebooks and pronunciation analysis.
To access this resource, point your browser to www.nclive.org, and follow the provided link to Pronunciator (it is also available as an application for iOS or Android tablet or phone). The first time you land on Pronunciator’s site it asks for an email address and a password to create an account (this is so you can track your own progress).
Before you launch Pronunciator, we recommend you click the site’s “Tour” tab to see the novel approaches it offers for language instruction. For example, “ProRadio” allows you to listen to music in the language of your choice, “ProFlix” shows movies subtitled in two languages simultaneously, and “Pitch Perfect” uses musical scales to help you grasp tonal-based languages like Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese.
Once you are signed in, just hit the big red button that says to “launch Pronunciator”. Pronunciator appears with two drop-menus asking for your native language and the language you want to learn. Choose your languages, and Pronunciator takes you immediately to a welcome screen offering a main course for independent learners and learning guides for students of varying skill levels.
You have the option to follow a preset course or to follow your interest. Either way you’ll leave with more language skills!

By listening to and repeating material designed from native conversations, you’ll not only learn the individual words and phrases, you’ll learn how to communicate in practical situations.
